Thursday 8th June.

In my semi-slumber I heard the morning sports news, and the speculation is growing that Brucey had actually been for an interview with Leicester City and is on their short list. Having left Sheffield United almost exactly a year ago with about 2 years remaining on his contract, it now appears as if he might be about to renege on yet another contract that is obviously not worth the paper it is written on. If I hear that Ian Ayre is still denying the rumours then I will know that it must be true.

The story goes that Steve Bruce (along with most of the rest of us) was somewhat hacked off following the sudden sale of Marcus Stewart to Ipswich. This little nugget was kept very quiet at the time, but he must feel peeved that the situation of being forced to sell his better players at Sheffield United is repeating itself, and he is probably getting out while the getting is good. The ever rapacious Town board are probably licking their lips at the prospect of getting hold of some of the £1¼ million compensation Celtic are rumoured to be paying Leicester for Martin O'Neill. Watch this space!

One of Town's overseas prospects might be on the way out. Being called Kiatisuk Senamuang, it would have been a nightmare to find a decent chant for him, although his nickname Zico might have been OK. The Thai national captain has been given permission to talk to other clubs (is this a euphemism for being shown the door?) and this is a great shame because I was looking forward to seeing him play.

Season ticket prices were also announced today, and it will cost £240.00 for my seat in the Kilner Bank (John Smiths) stand. Let's see how many people vote with their feet having been somewhat embittered last season, or whether they will do the same as me and turn up regardless because of some misguided sense of hope on a Saturday afternoon.
