Monday 12th June.

Any remaining speculation regarding Steve Bruce and Leicester City was finally quashed today as Peter Taylor of Gillingham was appointed as the Foxes' new manager. This keeps me happy as I didn't particularly want to see yet another Town managerial change, but my brother in law will be a little less pleased as he is a Gillingham supporter.

Apparently, Peter Taylor who took Gillingham to promotion to the First division last season via the play-offs was unhappy about not being given a long-term contract by the Gills. One was only discussed when the team looked almost certain to be heading for a least a top six place.

Euro 2000 is now nicely underway, and tonight saw England in action against Portugal. Unfortunately, despite England going 2-0 up in 18 minutes with goals from Paul Scholes and Steve McManaman, we contrived to lose the game 3-2, and deservedly so, as Portugal looked the better side on balance. Never mind, all we have to do is beat Germany and Romania and we'll still qualify.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
