The bitter end

Thursday 2nd November.

It was reported in tonight’s paper that Macari spoke with his predecessor before accepting the manager’s job. What’s this all about? Is it some quaint sense of loyalty or is he just the ultimate diplomat? He spoke to Bruce before accepting the caretakers’ role and now again before accepting the full post, can’t he break wind without Steve Bruce’s OK? Before we know it he will be admitting to running his team selections past the precious incumbent! Still, it’s a funny old game!

On the playing front it looks as though we will be without Kenny Irons who has picked up a virus (too much beer?), although we may have a couple of extra striking options available as both Martin Smith and Chris Hay seem to have recovered from their illnesses.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
