Monday 25th September.

Whilst admitting that the pressure is growing, Bruce is still trying to talk things up, as is Mel Booth at the Examiner. Town’s manager still thinks that we can turn things around this season and seems to be one of the few who thinks the current squad is good enough. Even though the performance was more spirited and encouraging, the simple fact of the matter is that we lost and are still propping up the division, Mr Bruce having guided us to our worst ever start to a campaign.

Ever the optimist, Mel Booth pointed out in tonight’s paper that we are only 10-points behind a play off place, although that was tempered by the fact that defeat next week will give us the same points/games tally which saw the departure of Brian Horton 3 years ago.

Although there was a board meeting at the McAlpine today, there was no comment from Barry Rubery so it looks as though Mr Bruce is still on the payroll – for the time being at least.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
