The bitter end

Wednesday 23rd August.

Chris Lucketti today pledged his future to Town, but the impression from Town hierarchy is that if an offer was made that was sufficiently interesting then they would drive him down the M6 themselves.

All sorts of rumours seem to be circulating, with Clyde Wijnhard linked with Sheffield Wednesday (a swap for Mr Booth?), and a link between Cardiff City and Ken Monkou. With regard to the latter, I would say that if they can afford his wages then let him go. Isn’t it a shame that bottom division Cardiff have possibly got more money available than we have.

Greg Berhalter, the American international who was on trial with Town, has now joined first division rivals Norwich City for a trial period. Apparently, although Bruce is still interested, they have been unable to reach agreement on financial terms. This is probably because although he would arrive on a free transfer he will probably require paying for his services, and Town seem unable (or unwilling) to do this without making another sale first.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
