Sunday 18th June.

Whilst doing a spot of plastering in the spare room and listening to a Euro 2000 match commentary, I was most shocked to hear that Paul Jewell had tendered his resignation as manager of Bradford City. Apparently he was feeling the pressure and wanted to find a new challenge. Geoffrey Richmond has refused to accept the resignation and told him to go away and think about the decision. I would imagine that the decision will stand, but what I fail to understand is what pressure he was under. As odds-on favourites for relegation all season the only pressure would be who finished bottom, Bradford or Watford? In the end he surpassed all expectations (mine included) and kept them up, so surely this season he can just bask in the glory of their miraculous escape. Perhaps the real pressure was getting along with Mr Richmond who enjoys hogging the limelight in his own inimitable manner.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
