The bitter end

Monday 15th May.

I felt obliged to congratulate my work colleagues who support Bradford City today. After all, they are still in the Premier league following yesterday's fluke win over Liverpool while we still languish in the Nationwide (more games, less money - sounds better to me - not!).

I couldn't believe that they are having an open top bus tour of the City centre in celebration. Celebration of what for crying out loud? They festered in the bottom three almost all season, and thanks to Wimbledon's ineptitude contrived to stave off relegation at the last gasp.

At the end of the day they finished fourth bottom and had a mass celebration outside the Town Hall! Oh ye of little ambition, we came eighth, and by the time the players came back onto the pitch to receive their accolade from the fans most people were sitting at home watching Brookside.

Perhaps we should have held a tickertape parade on Madison Avenue for our achievements, and what of those other teams who also came fourth bottom in their respective leagues will they be having open top bus tours? I think not! I'm sure that the good people of West Bromwich felt that this season was one to forget, and as for Cardiff, they finished fourth bottom and were relegated. Is there no justice? Oh God I am really bitter and twisted.

You might know from my ranting that nothing has happened in the HTFC department, although hopefully the Bradford fans will quieten down a little now because they know that they will be relegated next season, won't they?
