Sunday 29th April.

Good news from Ewood Park as promotion chasing Blackburn Rovers came back from a goal behind to beat Portsmouth 3-1. This helps Town in so far as it keeps Pompey a point behind from the same games played, but more importantly it means that Portsmouth have to avoid defeat at Crystal Palace to condemn the ‘Eagles’ to division 2 next season and ensure their own survival as well as ours.

The hot news from Selhurst Park today is that they sacked manager Alan Smith and his sidekick, and this looks like the move of a team resigned to relegation. Whoever is in charge of team affairs knows they must win both their remaining games to have a sniff of survival and, let’s face it, this is fairly unlikely as managerial changes can take time to have an effect.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
