Wednesday 25th April.

The club revealed the new shirt and sponsors today, and after 5 years or so in pale blue stripes we will revert to our more traditional royal blue and white striped shirts. Our shirt sponsor from next season is to be Prime Time Recruitment replacing Panasonic whose name has adorned our shirts for the last 6 years. I am sorry to see the association with Panasonic come to an end because it was great to be sponsored by a high profile name following some of our less auspicious backers such as Central Garage Mirfield. The deal is worth around £500,000 over the three years and the company will also open an office at the ground allowing supporters to watch the game and get themselves another job.

I quite like the new shirts as they are more reminiscent of the Twenties style, although I must admit to voting for the pale blue option on the web site as I have rather got used to it. I am not so sure about the away kit consisting of all black, but at least they will have a ready-made excuse for any away defeats next season – they won’t be able see each other!

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
