Tuesday 24th April.

The FA disciplinary committee were in action today fining Joe Jordan £750 and Ben Thornley £1000 for their protestations to referee Colin Webster following Bolton’s last gasp equaliser in February. The amounts of the fine sound more like a modest ‘smack on the wrist’ than a full-blown punishment and presumably the panel could understand the anger felt by the accused. Lou Macari meanwhile is still waiting for a new date for his own appearance before the same committee, which is a ridiculous delay from an incident that took place in December.

Next Tuesday’s opponents, Wimbledon, were involved in a 3-3 draw tonight leaving them 7 points behind the last play-off place with 3 games to go. They are due to face Fulham on Saturday at Craven Cottage, and hopefully this time next week they will have nothing to play for and give us the 3 points. Also in action tonight were Grimsby Town, and a 4-1 home defeat maintains the Mariners’ interest in the relegation equation.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
