The bitter end

Monday 15th January.

Following our third blank since the departure of Peter Ndlovu, it is starting to look more and more unlikely that he will be returning to the McAlpine, and following a fall out between Lou Macari and Trevor Francis an agreement looks to be very unlikely at the moment. Steve Jenkins has returned to the McAlpine’ and even this proved to be a little acrimonious as Macari tried to recall him early (as we had allowed Birmingham to do with Ndlovu) but Birmingham refused. It sounds as though any deal Birmingham might wish to broker for Steve Jenkins would have to involve Peter Ndlovu travelling in the opposite direction.

In anticipation of this not happening Lou Macari is starting a fresh search for a new striker, although the return of Martin Smith on Saturday will provide some options up front, provided he can stay injury free.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
