Friday 15th December.

After hearing earlier in the week that Town were trying to add a defender to the squad, they have let one go! Steve Jenkins has joined Birmingham City on loan as part of the agreement that brought Peter Ndlovu in the opposite direction. Francis was rumoured to be interested in Jenkins back in the summer when he acquired Nicky Eaden instead from Barnsley. Birmingham have always had a large squad and seem to collect players like other people might collect stamps.

I am surprised that Jenkins has been allowed to go as he has been playing well of late and provides options both as right back and centre back, but if this is the price that has to be paid for Peter Ndlovu’s services, then so be it. They can have him for the rest of the season as long as they reciprocate. It looks as though Jamie Vincent will return to the starting line-up as left back, alongside Kevin Gray and Jon Dyson in the centre and Thomas Heary as right back.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
