Thursday 5th April.

With a number of difficult looking games on the horizon we could well do without further injury worries, but Lee Morris has picked up a back injury making him doubtful for Saturday. Just to exacerbate the situation Jim Brennan was sent off for kicking a Birmingham City player (an understandable action) during today’s reserve game meaning that he will be unavailable for some of the remaining games of his loan period and to cap it all Martin Smith didn’t make it past the half time interval after suffering a recurrence of his knee injury. It’s a good job we signed Booth otherwise we would only have Facey and Gallen up front to face Wolves who lost 1-0 at home to Wimbledon last night.

Six months after getting his cards, Steve Bruce is back in football management at Wigan Athletic who recently parted company with Bruce Rioch after slipping out of the play-off picture. Wigan are owned these days by Mr JJB Sports (whose name I don’t know but I bet his initials are JJB) and are now one of the wealthier lower division clubs, and this should suit Bruce who will enjoy chucking more of someone else’s money around.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
