Thursday 8th February.

I never thought I would find myself worrying about the fitness of Simon Baldry, but surprisingly I am. Despite managing to play for half an hour or so on Saturday, he seems to be still struggling with the thigh injury sustained since before the postponed Tranmere game. Strangely enough, we do look as though we are missing him when he is absent from the team. With his new found self-belief he is worrying defences and now has the confidence to run at defenders, and with Martin Smith operating on the left wing we seem to have a little more cutting edge. In the half hour he managed against Nottingham Forest last week he certainly contributed to Town’s dominance of the later stages of the game.

Once again illness has spread through the Town team this week, and Ben Thornley and Jon Dyson have been suffering from some kind of ’flu-like symptoms, although they look as though they might be OK to play.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
