Monday 31st July.

It looks fairly certain that Ken Monkou will miss the start of the new season and this is now less than a fortnight away. Although it appears as if the injury isn't too serious, he looks certain to be a non-starter for the curtain raiser against Watford on August 12th.

There is still little apparent movement on the signings front, with the most likely addition to the squad being Kevin Gallen. Having scored on Saturday against Port Vale and not requiring any sort of transfer fee, he seems to be the main object of Steve Bruce's attentions who is to have talks with the player and his agent tomorrow.

It has been revealed that the interest in Tomek Iwan from PSV Eindhoven might be waning, because of the player's high wage demands. With money seemingly being so tight for Town, it's doubtful that they can even afford the air ticket for Steve Bruce to fly out to Holland to continue the talks. From the reports it would be a shame to miss out, but the way things are going this summer it looks as though he might be passing us by.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
