Thursday 21st December.
It looks as though Dean Gorré might be on his way from the McAlpine.
It was alleged that he had made some “negative remarks” about Town
on his personal web site although the player himself has denied
this. I can’t believe that he has got his own web site, it must
get loads of hits each day (not). Perhaps I should set up my own
site and call it sad git.com. Anyhow, the club are being a bit tight
lipped about the actual meeting, but save to say that if a sufficiently
attractive offer comes in then he will be on his way out. Gorré
seems to be frustrated about his lack of opportunities in the starting
11, but at the end of the day Macari wants battlers at the moment
and Gorré’s early season form in particular didn’t warrant automatic
selection. If he does leave then it should help the ridiculous wage
situation we find ourselves in at the moment.
There seems to be some support for Macari from Portsmouth’s goalkeeping
coach Alan Knight in respect of his little contretemps with the
fourth official at Fratton Park. Seemingly he was seen to encroach
into the Portsmouth technical area by accident, and when confronted
by the fourth official (no doubt a little larger that little Lou)
he raised his hands in self-defence. No malice seemed to be evident,
and Alan Knight has offered to provide evidence in his favour at
the FA hearing.
