The bitter end

Tuesday 19th December.

Macari has been charged with violent conduct towards a match official. He has 14 days to appeal, and plans to do so requesting a personal hearing with the powers-that-be. The fourth official turns out to be a policeman who apparently asked Macari and Jordan to “sit down and shut up”. Perhaps he forgot where he was, didn’t realise he was at a football match and thought he was chastising some spotty Herbert he didn’t like the look of on his beat.

Meanwhile on the transfer front, Town must be close to making an acquisition as they have announced the name of their target. They have agreed a fee (yes, a fee!) of £225,000 for Barnsley defender Adie Moses and that there are just a few details to sort out, and presumably the players own personal terms.

Later in the evening I saw on Teletext that Barnsley have ‘parted company’ with manager Dave Bassett following some poor results which have seen them drop to within 4 points of the drop zone. I hope this doesn’t interfere with our proposed transfer dealings.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
