Friday 12th January.
I suppose it was to be expected, but the transfer talks look to
have broken down once again and that no deal is in the pipeline
to bring Ndlovu back to the McAlpine. It looks as though Jenkins
is on the way back after the final game of his loan period tomorrow
and this is good news for Sainsbury's because this is where he does
his shopping according to my friend Marcus who saw him there last
week. Any hope of a swap deal involving Jenkins and Ndlovu looks
to be increasingly remote now.
Portsmouth have today made an official £700,000 bid for Jamie
Vincent and thankfully this has been turned down, so perhaps my
earlier comments about money above everything are wrong and were
possibly unfair. However if they were to offer £750,000…. oh stop
it, things aren’t that bad!
Lou Macari hasn’t revealed his team for tomorrow and I am guessing
that he might recall Martin Smith out wide on the left, but this
is just speculation on my part. Chris Lucketti might also get a
start despite his recent nose operation.
Speaking of operations, Clyde Wijnhard is due to have an X-Ray
early next week and is hoping to get the nod to step up his training
further. It’s a shame he won’t be fit for tomorrow’s game because
we really need to win this one.
