Chapter Seven
‘Tis the Season to be Jolly
Friday 1st December.
It looks as though stand-in midfielder Craig Armstrong will probably
have to move back into defence alongside Gray, Dyson and Jenkins
with Thomas Heary being drafted into the squad as cover perhaps
on the subs. bench. Meanwhile, Club owner cum chairman and tea lady
Barry Rubery is still trying to talk things up. He called for the
fans to get behind the team, but admitted that it’s about time the
supporters were given what they are paying for. The problem is that
the fans haven’t been getting what they have paid for all season,
and when you have parted with your hard-earned to watch a bunch
of overpaid players under-perform, there is bound to be frustration.
You should have been showing more interest back in September, Barry,
because the season is 3½ months old and your pleas come a bit late
in the day.
