Thursday 10th August.
I love the way that Radio Leeds, Leeds, Leeds have their finger
on Town's pulse. They finally got around to announcing the arrival
of Kevin Gallen, but they are so busy talking about Leeds, more
Leeds and even more Leeds as well as Bradford that they hardly find
time for a scrawny little club like us. Anyway better late than
never!
With only 2 days to go until the big KO (will that be kick off
or knockout?), but no further arrivals at the Mac, although there
seems to be a suggestion that there may be a departure. One of my
favourite players Kevin Gray has been linked with Stockport County
although I am hoping that it proves to be idle speculation. I have
always had a lot of time for 'Big Kev' who is such a wholehearted
player always giving 100%, and he is the sort of player we need,
particularly with Ken Monkou being so unreliable through injury.
I think many at the McAlpine would sorely miss him, after becoming
a bit of a hero following his atrocious tackle on Bradford's Gordon
Watson badly breaking his leg. I know I shouldn't really say that,
but that's football rivalry for you.
Ian Ayre was busy talking up the prospects for the coming campaign,
but he would, wouldn't he? After all, they have bought a whole player
this week so things must look good.
