Huddersfield Town

Those were the days my friends

we thought they'd never end

we won the league three times in a row

we won the FA Cup and now....

It's been a tough year for the McAlpine faithful.

After threatening to win promotion or at least make the play-offs for much of last season, Huddersfield Town's best player for many years was sold to keep the bank happy and Mr Moneybags found he had a hole in his pocket.

As we embarked on year 2 of the supposed three year promotion plan to enter the hallowed world of the Premier League things could only get better - couldn't they? After all, Vile Parade continued to host the elite teams of this country so why couldn't we? With a good squad of players and a high profile manager spending the promised millions things could only get better this season.

I began writing a diary of what would hopefully be a season of great joy as we marched into the top flight for the first time in around 30 years, only things didn't turn out as I expected and 'Those Were The Days, My Friends' became a chronicle of dire performances both on and off the pitch. All the thoughts are personal and in no way reflect those of the club, in fact I would be shocked and disappointed if they did.
