Monday 27th November.

Just when it looks as though the injury jinx is easing, we have now lost Chris Lucketti to a fractured jaw injury sustained during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Birmingham. With seven crucial games in December we could well do without losing Lucketti’s services for most of them, particularly as Jon Dyson picked up a yellow card and will be suspended for one of those games.

Despite the result which leaves us 8 points behind our nearest rivals it sounds as though the performance warranted more than a zero points return but you earn nothing for performances alone and we need to start collecting some maximums quickly before the season comes to a premature end. Strangely though, I have a good feeling about this Saturday against Crewe, it sounds as though the performance level has improved and I feel we are long overdue something to cheer about. Perhaps it’s post-holiday optimism, but I feel that the Macari/Jordan effect might be rubbing off on the players – I hope so.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
