Thursday 17th August.

Town's central defensive woes continue with Ken Monkou being fined 2 weeks wages and put on the transfer list. Apparently, a friendly match was arranged with Burnley behind closed doors to aid Mr Monkou's recovery from his hamstring injury and he failed to turn up! Naturally, Steve Bruce was furious and has treated it as a serious breach of club discipline.

Who knows what the future has in store for the ex Chelsea and Southampton man at the McAlpine, but if it throws a lifeline to Kevin Gray I don't suppose I will complain too much. With Town's pecuniary woes being declared by Barry Rubery this week, perhaps shipping out one or more of these higher wage earners (in excess of £5-6,000 per week?) might ease the pressure on Steve Bruce to sell the grafters before he buys again.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
