Saturday 5th May.

No action today in the first division obviously, but if we can achieve the ‘Great Escape II’ on Sunday then we will have the chance to visit Coventry City next season as they were finally relegated from the Premier League today. Also, if we do stay up then there is the possibility of a visit to the New Den as Millwall secured the championship of division 2 and Rotherham have achieved their second successive promotion to join ‘The Lions’. If we do go down then I can look forward to pay a visit to some new grounds with Colchester, Swindon, Cambridge and Wycombe who have all survived the threat of relegation.

At the foot of the leagues Torquay managed to beat Barnet at Underhill to end the 10-year stay of the north Londoners in the football league to be replaced by Rushden and Diamonds. If Barnet were to win the Conference next season they would almost certainly not achieve promotion as their ground capacity is less than 6,000, and apparently this is the minimum criteria to gain entry to the Football League.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
