Thursday 29th March.

With the crucial period of 10 games in the next 5 weeks commencing on Saturday, Macari today called for the players to give one final push to rescue themselves from the relegation places. It might be a good time to remind the players that they have got themselves in this predicament over the past 36 games, and that they owe it to the long suffering supporters to wear their hearts on their sleeves and get the 5 wins we so badly need.

We have some very tough fixtures looming with 2 of the remaining 4 home games against promotion chasing Fulham and Birmingham as well as tough away visits to Wolves, Preston, Blackburn and West Brom, to say nothing of two journeys to Selhurst Park. I can’t really see where the five wins are coming from, but I suppose that we’ll just have to start on Saturday against Portsmouth and take it game by game after that.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
