Saturday 27th January.

Town managed to beat Conference side Boston United 2-1 although it took two goals in the last few minutes to secure the win. Boston who featured ex-Town man Paul Raynor had taken the lead in the 26th minute and it took a Martin Smith goal with about 3 minutes left and a Craig Armstrong (are you sure?) penalty to save Town’s blushes. Hopefully we are saving our real firepower for the visit of Nottingham Forest in a week’s time! A win is a win, but we really should have done better with what was essentially a first team line up.

The only other point of note was that the team included John Thorington who has been training with the club after having been out of the game with guess what… a hamstring injury. He is currently on the staff at Bayer Leverkusen having started his career at Manchester United, but do we really want yet another player with weak hamstrings? Five minutes on the pitch at the McAlpine and he will be knackered again!

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
