Saturday 20th January

Despite the hot air blanket, the game today did fall victim to a frozen pitch and this means that January is going to be a very lean month indeed for league fixtures – one to be precise. There is no game next week as it is the 4th round of the FA Cup (just think we could have been thrashing Kingstonian), and although both Town and Crystal Palace have a week off the postponed New Years day fixture has not been re-arranged for next Saturday. What on earth will I find to write about? Peter Ndlovu I suppose!

Lou Macari collected his Manager of the Month award today, and 3 Town players received awards for their performances in December. Match magazine rates players performances throughout each month and Simon Baldry came second to Bolton’s Colin Hendry with the latter scoring 8.25 marks per match on average and Baldry averaging 7.85. Not bad for a fringe player under Bruce and it just goes to show that he should have had a better look at the players already at the club before he started chucking loads of money around. Peter Ndlovu came third in the list averaging 7.83 marks and Delroy Facey figured in 6th place with 7.66. Well-done lads, but let’s go for the 1-2-3 in February. We might as well forget January.

A big thank you to Machala for putting up with me doing this and Ian for his support and my Mum for her proof reading.
